Rich Jackson

Rich Jackson has close to 32 years experience working in the energy industry.  Rich is currently the Executive Director of the New Jersey Energy Coalition. Prior tohis time with SVL and NJEC, Rich was most recently with Jacobs Engineering, located in Philadelphia, acting as their Director of Utility Consulting. Jackson’s dsc_0005rresume includes serving as Executive Vice President & COO of South Jersey Gas Company, Executive Director for the New Jersey BPU, as well as Sr. Vice President of Operations for Louisiana Offshore Oil Port.

Jackson was with South Jersey Gas for over 21 years. He began as Manager of Financial Planning and climbed the ladder of increasing leadership which culminated in being appointed as Executive Vice President & COO. Jackson served in this position for 4 years. During his time with the company, he was responsible for strategic planning for all utility field operations. He was also responsible for distribution, transmission and LNG production operations, operations and maintenance, as well as gas supply and capacity management activities.

After an impressive career, Rich Jackson was appointed Executive Director of the New Jersey BPU. He served in this position from 2010-2012. During this time, Jackson led the development, implementation and execution of major program initiatives affecting the state’s electric, natural gas, water, and telecommunications ratepayers. He also represented the Board in meetings with the utility company executive staffs, other State departments, the Governor’s Office staff, and the legislature.

Mr. Jackson graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. In addition Mr. Jackson has an MBA from Drexel University, and was a part of the Executive Management Program at Penn State University.
