Mr. Mroz has a distinguished record of public service in New Jersey and
nationally. As President of Salmon Ventures he concentrates on regulatory
and governmental relations and business development issues but also
maintains a separate legal practice.
Mr. Mroz served in the cabinet of Governor Christie Whitman as Chief
Counsel to the Governor and Counsel for the state's largest independent
authorities. He was the primary advisor for legislative affairs, negotiated
the state budget, recommended judicial appointments, and provided liaison
to and oversight of the largest state agencies such as the Economic
Development Authority, Turnpike Authority, Wastewater Treatment Trust,
Water Supply Authority, Casino Control Commission, Sports and
Exposition Authority and the various port authorities including the Port
Authority of New York & New Jersey and Delaware River Port Authority.
Mr. Mroz oversaw and negotiated agreements for to the introduction of E-Z
Pass in the region, proposals for Off-Track Pari-mutuel Wagering, and
negotiated the public-private Road Development Agreements with Mirage
Resorts (now MGM) for the Atlantic City-Brigantine Roadway Connector.
Prior to serving in the Whitman Administration he was the County Counsel
for Camden County New Jersey. Mr. Mroz has served as counsel to the
Delaware River & Bay Authority, which operates the Delaware Memorial
Bridge and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. Currently, he is counsel to the
Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association and is legislative agent to the
New Jersey Conference of Mayors.
Mr. Mroz is a member of the Board of the Federal Home Loan Bank of
New York which serves member financial institutions in New Jersey, New
York, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. He has been the Chairman of the
Bank's External Affairs Committee and a founding member of the Bank's
Corporate Governance Committee and is a member of the Board
Compensation Committee. He has also been the Bank representative to the
Council of Home Loan Banks the national trade organization representing
these institutions twelve Home Loan Banks.
President Bush appointed Mr. Mroz to the Commission on White House
Fellows. This national commission includes citizens who represent a broad
range of backgrounds, interests, and professions. Founded in 1964, the
White House Fellows program is America's most prestigious program for
leadership and public service. White House Fellows typically spend a year
working as full-time, paid special assistants to senior White House Staff, the
Vice President, Cabinet Secretaries and other top-ranking government
officials.
Mr. Mroz is a Member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Alliance
for Action, a business and trade organization in New Jersey, as well as a
Member of the Board of the Volunteers of America of the Delaware Valley.
Active with his college alma mater, Mr. Mroz served for many years on the
Board of the University of Delaware Alumni Association and served as the
President of that organization.
Active in Political Affairs, Mr. Mroz serves as the volunteer statewide
coordinator for the McCain 2008 New Jersey Campaign. Previously, he
served as Counsel to the Bush-Cheney 2004 New Jersey Campaign
Committee and as Special Counsel to the New Jersey Republican State
Committee. In 2000 he was the New Jersey representative to Philadelphia
2000 (Philadelphia's Host Committee) for the National Republican
Convention when he coordinated all of New Jersey's efforts to support the
2000 Convention including numerous special events.
Mr. Mroz is a Member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Alliance
